4/25/2023 0 Comments Mindview gantt chartThe online version of MindView is cloud-based (opens in new tab) and features mapping software, bibliography creation, and automatic citation. You should think carefully before deciding which one to use as the differences between the editions go beyond how you access the MindView software, each is priced individually too. ![]() There are three different variants of the MindView platform. MatchWare has six worldwide offices spread across the US, UK, Germany, France, Sweden, and Denmark, each of which is available by phone and email. If you need technical support (even after checking out the MindView FAQ), you can submit a ticket. From there, you can look through MatchWare’s relevant advice. Most likely, the tool you want will pop up as well as a “Get Help” prompt. If you need help using MindView or are searching for a particular tool, the best thing you can do is go to the toolbar, locate the lightbulb icon and type in what you need help with. After you’ve finished creating, you can add citations or links, and then export to other software like Excel by navigating to the “File” menu again. This means you can find which is the best visual representation of your information. When you start exploring the templates, you’ll see that you can generate different map-types with the same information. Luckily, you can sign up for a seminar, read MatchWare’s published whitepapers, or watch tutorials embedded in the program to get a deeper understanding of what everything does. Right off the bat, you’ll see for yourself how extensive a feature set MindView offers, and may even feel a bit overwhelmed. Under “File → New”, you can browse a selection of templates and get started exploring the software. ![]() If you are familiar with the Microsoft suite, you will feel very at-home. Once you download the program, you’ll be directed to a screen with a very recognizable toolbar, designed to look a lot like other Microsoft Office (opens in new tab) programs such as Word, Excel, and Access. On the MatchWare website, you can either purchase the MindView product or start with a free 30-day trial. (Image credit: Mindmatch) Interface and In Use

4/25/2023 0 Comments Boundless game for playststion 3The next problem is finding stuff to put in the furnace. Wood works, but it slows down the process of smelting, far better to use something like coal or a peaty soil – so far so good. The furnace requires two components to work and, of course, fuel. Early on you are tasked with creating a furnace. Basic items take much less time than more complex items and I am fairly sure there is a process to speed up the crafting, however the menus aren’t particularly intuitive and I can’t work out how to do it. Each item you make has a time associated to it, so for example if you require a new axe for chopping down trees you will need to allow for the amount of time it takes to make it. ![]() In the early stages the loot drop feels pretty regular, so much so that there is no real incentive to spend your credits on anything, however it will be interesting to see how this pans out after a much more extended play when levelling begins to take much longer.Ĭrafting is fairly simple, you can use different crafting stations to do different things. The boxes mainly seem to contain XP as well as in game currency that you can spend on cosmetic items or purchasing more boxes. Completing them grants you item boxes that you can open. There are various objectives to work towards that you can do in your own time. Later skills involve bomb making, the ability to warp to other worlds and lowering your tax on items you sell on the marketplace called the Exchange. Early skills are focused on things like improving your overall health or your harvesting speed with certain tools. ![]() Initially your buildable space is pretty limited, but as you progress you can craft more plots to increase the area you construct upon.Įverything you do in the world will grant you XP that you can then spend on skills. You do this by crafting a beacon and then setting out a plot. As an MMO game you will need to plot out a patch that no-one else inhabiting the world can then build upon. If you have played any type of sandbox survival game you will understand pretty quickly that once your basic tools are crafted and you have made a couple of crafting stations for more complex recipes your next order of business is to set up a base. The process then is gathering enough to craft a better tool for the job, be that an axe for trees and foliage, or a shovel for dirt and sand and a hammer for gathering the various stone types. Once on your new world you are prompted to start gathering materials by hitting things with your totem. Once you are happy with your avatar you will spawn in the Sanctum and equipped with your totem can choose a spawn point by gazing above you and selecting a planet to warp to. You begin in a character creation screen that on the surface offers you myriad options for your character, however closer inspection shows that these options are all just gradients of the one you have just dismissed. ![]() There is some charm there, but it is buried under unintuitive menus and a complete lack of support information. Minecraft is so successful because at it’s very essence it is simple, but Boundless thrusts you into an overly fussy world compounded by layers upon layers of MMO style stuff to do. Another voxel based sandbox game with a heavy emphasis on crafting and exploration being released into a heavily saturated genre that is still, without question, dominated by Minecraft. Boundless is an experience that feels like it is a game that is a couple of years too late. 4/25/2023 0 Comments Quicksync h264 settings![]() It’s a fantastic tool that saves me hours each month. It's entertaining and worth watching for two very good performances by Guy Pearce and Sienna Miller. But it doesn't ask any deep questions nor does it pretend to be something it's not. The movie pretty much captures the shallow, transient and utterly facile world of Warhol in the sixties and in another way it sums up the emptiness and tragedy of the Hollywood dream machine too. However, there it is on the soundtrack being played in the factory sometime in 1965. For instance, "Leavin' here" by The Birds, a British group in which Ronnie Wood was the guitarist, was recorded in 1966 but was never released in America. The Chelsea Hotel, the Velvet Underground, a soundtrack of songs that sound right but which actually don't fit at all. ![]() Nothing in the movie has much depth, none of the characters are developed beyond what we already know about them and the whole sixties New York scene is represented by a series of iconic "things". ![]() She flashes across the screen like a speeded up Holly Golighty, while Warhol's voyeuristic viewfinder traps her in it's leering stare. Caught in the strobe lights of Warhol's strangely sterile world of non-sexual sex and sofas still in their plastic wrappers, Edie becomes the focus of his short attention span for a while. Sienna Miller's performance as Edie Sedgewick is the best thing she's ever done. Pearce's performance is riveting, his Andy Warhol is as empty as his crapulous art just a two-dimensional diagram of someone who leaves no shadow. The original art-as-business creator, the very God at whose altar such modern day charlatans as Damien Hirst worship. Guy Pearce presents Andy Warhol as the superficial creature he undoubtedly was. The weakness of the film is best shown by the interviews over the closing credits. Her talent is undeniable and although it is a pleasure to see her performance as Edie, she deserves a much wider audience. It could be later this year when she re-teams with her "Layer Cake" director. That role has just not quite happened yet. Miller will at some point break out and become the film star she is destined to become. The physical and emotional turmoil seems very real as Edie goes from top of world to desperation for life. Other support comes from Mena Suvari as Edie's friend, Beth Grant as Warhol's mom, Don Novello (Father Guido from early SNL), and Illeana Douglas as Diana Vreeland.īy far the best part of this project is the performance of Sienna Miller as Edie Sedgwick. Aussie Guy Pearce does a nice impersonation of Warhol and Jimmy Fallon has his first serious role. The film is overly choppy in attempting to find the right look and feel and yet with Jagger, Velvet Underground and the Dylanesque Hayden Christensen, the importance and power of music for this era is clearly established. Of course, those things were not enough to carve out any real territory and the ending, while tragic, is not at all surprising. No real talent herself, her name, family money and looks got her inside the art world and exceptionally close to Warhol. Edie was really the first to make being famous a job. While we do spend a good portion of the film in The Factory, this is more the tragic story of Edie, rather than an insightful look at Warhol's art. "Factory Girl" probably has little hope of attracting much attention from movie-goers as well. Director George Hickenlooper's best work has been "Mayor of Sunset Strip" and "Dogtown", neither of which drew much of an audience. Andy Warhol and The Factory poses quite the challenge to any filmmaker attempting to capture the look, feel and pain of that world unto itself. ![]() Reviewed by ferguson-6 6 / 10 You're the Boss, Applesauce 4/25/2023 0 Comments Best memory cleaner for windows![]() ![]() You can trust that they'll help your PC run in orderly fashion.Ĭlick the links below to read full reviews of these PC tune-up tools. This tune-up utility collection doesn't highlight every single system-enhancing tool on the market-these are our favorite tune-up utilities, after all. Typically, the operating system feels snappier, and the computer boots up far quicker than it did before we ran the software. We run each test three times and average the results.Įach tune-up utility we've tested improved a PC's performance in some fashion. We run the Geekbench system performance tool and measure boot times on a junked-up testbed before and after running a tune-up utility to compare the computer's potency. We test tune-up utilities with a very specific, repeatable process. Again, third-party tune-up utilities have the benefit of gathering everything into one central location. Windows 10 has file-deletion programs, but it's hidden in the system. Antivirus suites, program uninstallers, and driver updaters, which sometimes come bundled in tune-up utilities, can also be purchased as standalone software from Ashampoo, AVG, and other companies. Some come bundled with file shredders that permanently delete your unwanted data, though there are plenty of free and paid file shredders that perform the same action. Tune-up utilities frequently include other software that sweetens the purchasing deal. Many tune-up utilities have free versions that tell you what's wrong with your PC, but won't let you perform a clean up until you make a purchase. For example, AVG TuneUp's free version lets you tune-up your PC for 30 days before needing to whip out your bank card. Many companies offer free version of their tune-up utilities, but how that's executed varies. That's why you should look for a paid tune-up utility with either a high license allowance or no installation limitations Ashampoo and AVG's offerings have generous 10-PC licenses, while Iolo lets you install its System Mechanic on as many PCs as you'd like (for non-business purposes). To be fair, many companies offer multi-license packages, but they can prove pricey, too. If you live in a household with more than three computers that you'd like to freshen up, buying licenses may cost a pretty penny. Starting prices for tune-up utilities grant between three and 10 licenses per purchase, which means you're allowed to install the software on three PCs. Expect to spend roughly $20 to $50 for a standalone tune-up utility purchase or a monthly subscription. You won't spend a small fortune to begin the PC clean up process. Please note that while tune-up utilities were valuable tools in the Windows 8/7/XP eras, we now find them harder to recommend in the Windows 10 era, as the operating system lets you effectively tune-up your PC for free. Note that Microsoft's operating system has many built-in tools for improving your PC's performance, though they're scattered throughout the OS (unlike the third-party tune-up utilities mentioned here). We tested all the tune-up utilities in this story on a junked-up Windows 10 test bed. For example, Iolo System Mechanic cleans gunked-up PCs with its real-time system monitoring Ashampoo offers a file-deletion tool and backup app and AVG offers a driver updater. Some tune-up utilities perform just those basic functions, while more elaborate ones add numerous features that improve your computer in interesting ways. Link accounts together and share custom foods (good for couples). You get a few extra features if you upgrade: It costs $5.99 per month right now, but is cheaper if you pre-pay for 6 or 12 months. I’ve only used a free Cronometer account, because it has all the features mentioned in this review, and that’s more than enough for me.īut if you want more, you can upgrade to Cronometer Gold. It looks identical to the daily data reports in your food diary, which makes it simple to understand. This lets you see a more fair analysis of your overall nutrient intake, so that you can see if you’re really deficient in any particular nutrient. Once you start tracking your food intake for a while, you can head over to the “trends” menu option to see some pretty graphs and charts of your data. The benefit from this is that the nutritional data for foods should be much more accurate on average. Part of the reason that Cronometer has a smaller food database than a competitor like MyFitnessPal is that it doesn’t allow user submissions. If you eat a lot of those, it’s going to be a pain. This is just one aspect of a food tracker, you can see my full Cronometer vs MyFitnessPal review here.īut if you want to be as accurate as possible, you may have to manually enter in everything about certain foods as a “custom food”. I personally don’t mind picking a close alternative like Vega which will have similar nutritional values. If I type in “PlantFusion protein powder” into MyFitnessPal, it comes up no problem:īut in Cronometer, it doesn’t come up at all: What that means is that it has data for all typical whole foods (fruits, vegetables, etc.), and major brand names for pre-prepared or packaged foods.īut as I briefly mentioned before, Cronometer won’t have nutritional data for a lot of specific processed or packaged foods.įor example, take one of my favorite protein powders, PlantFusion. Food Variety on CronometerĬronometer pulls food data from multiple major food databases: NCCDB, USDA, ESHA, CRDB. It’s especially useful when tracking those hard to get nutrients like vegan sources of calcium. I’ve found it handy when I’m wondering which foods contribute to which nutrient intake. The most important nutrient targets are at the top of this section, and they are color coded to make it obvious if you’re short on anything.Ī nice feature that cronometer has is how simple it is to see the individual nutrient content of any food you added to that day.īy highlighting a food in your foods list, all the nutrient data will update. It should look something like this when you scroll down a bit: Vitamins, minerals, amino acid breakdown. How easy is it to view your overall nutritional intake?Īs you add food to a certain day of your food diary, you will notice that the nutritional intake values on the page update with it. ![]() Once you add a custom food or recipe, you can search for it when adding foods to your diary, and there’s also a tab for “custom” foods in the search input box. But once you know where everything is it’s simple enough. I think the UI could be improved a bit, the “add ingredients” button isn’t obvious at first. I recorded a short video (no sound) to show you how this works: While it’s not super obvious at first, there is a “FOODS” menu option at the very top.Ĭlicking that brings you to a screen where you can add a single food or recipe. ![]() Or what if you make a certain meal often, and don’t want to input the individual foods every time – yes, I actually did this for a few weeks before I looked this up. So what if you can’t find a food that you ate? (And you can’t find a good close alternative.) I’ve had no trouble finding any foods that I wanted, other than a few times when I searched for a very specific brand. ![]() It’s a very smart search box, as it seems to show you your most popular foods as default, so it gets faster and faster to use over time. ![]() When you click the button, a search box will pop up on the center of your screen. To add food, you click the “add food” button at the top of the screen: You can navigate to different days of your “food diary” using the big green arrows at the top of your screen. I’m just focusing on food tracking in this review, so there’s only a few things I really ever use. The dashboard is clean and there are only a few actions you can take, all of which are at the top of your screen. Other than a few features that I eventually looked up to use, most things are obvious. Overall, I found Cronometer very intuitive to use. That’s standard for any food tracking app. When you sign up, you answer a few questions to calculate your basal metabolic rate.

Each state follows as a natural consequence of individual efforts, or the lack thereof, to develop spiritually. Heaven can be seen partly as the soul's state of nearness to God and hell as a state of remoteness from God. Bahá'u'lláh stated that the soul not only continues to live after the physical death of the human body, but is, in fact, immortal. The Baháʼí Faith affirms that "the soul is a sign of God, a heavenly gem whose reality the most learned of men hath failed to grasp, and whose mystery no mind, however acute, can ever hope to unravel". It was uncovered in the third season of excavations by the Neubauer Expedition of the Oriental Institute in Chicago, Illinois. ![]() It is one of the earliest references to a soul as a separate entity from the body. The Kuttamuwa stele, a funeral stele for an 8th-century BCE royal official from Sam'al, describes Kuttamuwa requesting that his mourners commemorate his life and his afterlife with feasts "for my soul that is in this stele". Similar ideas are found in ancient Assyrian and Babylonian religion. In the ancient Egyptian religion, an individual was believed to be made up of various elements, some physical and some spiritual. Thus if one sees a tiger then there is a self-conscious identity residing in it (the soul), and a physical representative (the whole body of the tiger, which is observable) in the world. The actual self is the soul, while the body is only a mechanism to experience the karma of that life. Other religions (most notably Hinduism and Jainism) believe that all living things from the smallest bacterium to the largest of mammals are the souls themselves ( Atman, jiva) and have their physical representative (the body) in the world. For example, Thomas Aquinas, borrowing directly from Aristotle's On the Soul, attributed "soul" ( anima) to all organisms but argued that only human souls are immortal. In Judaism and in some Christian denominations, only human beings have immortal souls (although immortality is disputed within Judaism and the concept of immortality was most likely influenced by Plato). Present-day cognates include Dutch ziel and German Seele. In King Alfred's translation of De Consolatione Philosophiae, it is used to refer to the immaterial, spiritual, or thinking aspect of a person, as contrasted with the person's physical body in the Vespasian Psalter 77.50, it means "life" or "animate existence". The earliest attestations reported in the Oxford English Dictionary are from the 8th century. The Modern English noun soul is derived from Old English sāwol, sāwel. In lay terms the soul is the spiritual essence of a person, which includes our identity, personality, and memories that is believed to be able to survive our physical death. The top players have thousands of hours in the game and tens of thousands of games played, it has been invited to e-sports events like EVO, it has long lines waiting to play at shows like the Penny Arcade Expo, and it was the secret final game of the PAX Omegathon a few years back. Qualitatively, SpyParty has been playable at a highly competitive level for years. There's an active online community of experienced players that love helping new players learn, and there's a brand new tutorial to ease players into learning SpyParty because it's such a different game design. There is a very advanced spectation and replay system, so players can both spectate matches in progress, or look at replays of previous matches, and even play Sniper against the game they're spectating/replaying for added challenge while watching a match.
